20+ Pumpkin Farms and Corn Mazes in NC
When fall hits, I think pumpkins. Pumpkin lattes, pumpkin butter, and pumpkin patches. North Carolina has a lot (and I mean a LOT) of pumpkin farms to enjoy. And with pumpkins come corn mazes.
They’re great for family photos, saying how much the kids love sitting in the corn pens while secretly you love it too, watching the teens try to solve the corn maze, and heading home with the perfect pumpkin.
Try coupling your pumpkin fun with a trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway to see the leaves change. It’s a great weekend outing.
You can find big farms to spend half a day, or little farms for a quick Saturday morning. Some have fees, some are free. I’m pretty sure of all the fun things NC has to offer that corn mazes may be my favorite.
Here’s your rundown of the best pumpkin patches in North Carolina. Jump straight to find the pumpkin farm closes to you.

Tips for Visiting Pumpkin Farms and Corn Mazes
Plan your trip. I can’t say this enough. You cannot just wake up and head to a pumpkin farm. Each location opens on its own schedule from the date they officially open to their operating dates and times while open.
Some locations require you to purchase a ticket in advance. Others only accept cash. Know before you go.
Use each farm’s website and check their social media. Many places will update their Facebook before the website.
I highly recommend wearing closed-toe shoes, and so do the farms. These are working farms with machinery, and the patches are full of things that can stub your toes. It’s your choice, but I’d go for sneakers.
Bring a bag to carry your pumpkin. It’s a long, long walk from the patch to your car when you’re carrying an 8 pound, uncooperative, weirdly shaped pumpkin.
Dogs are almost universally not allowed on the farms. Check the website before going. The exception is service animals.
Pumpkin Farms and Corn Mazes Near the Coast
When thinking about Pumpkin patches near the coast, use Wilmington as your beacon.
Hubbs Farm in Clinton, NC
https://www.hubbsfarmnc.com/
10276 US Hwy 421 North, Clinton, NC 28328
Tickets must be purchased in advance online. Hubbs is regularly voted one of the best corn mazes in North Carolina. They pick a theme and do it right every year.
Beyond the corn maze is a pumpkin patch, farm animals, and food trucks. Kids will love rope mountain, the barrel train, and giant slide among plenty of other kid-friendly activities. Get ready to pull yourself and teens away from the human foosball (you read that right), and giant jump pad.
This is going to be an all day adventure so plan accordingly.
Mike’s Farm, Beulaville, NC
https://www.mikesfarmnc.com
1600 Haw Branch Rd, Beulaville, NC 28518
Mike’s Farm offers strawberry and pumpkin picking, depending on the season. You can enjoy a Hayride, visit the animals, and pick your pumpkin. The entry fee is minimal making it an affordable family outing.
Plan to stay for lunch which is all you can eat southern cooking. Sit down and wait for bowl after bowl of fried chicken, biscuits, mashed potatoes and more to keep coming. Elastic waisted pants are the way to go here!
Briley’s Farm Market in Greenville, NC
https://brileysfarmmarketnc.com/mobile/pumpkinpatch
5290 Old Pactolus Rd, Greenville, NC 27834
Okay, this can be a little confusing, there is Briley’s Farm Market and Briley’s produce stand. You want the Farm Market with the website and address above. It’s open the last weekend in September through the first weekend in November.
There are tons of fun activities for the family here including hayrides, a jump pad, giant slide, corn maze, sunflower maze, and more. Plus, your pumpkin is included in your admission fee.
There is concession food on site including lemonade, limeade (my favorite), roasted corn, popcorn, and boiled peanuts.

After wandering through the corn maze or jumping on the giant pumpkin pillow, you can treat yourself to ice cream or other goodies at their market café.
They’ve teamed up with Tar River Life to offer kayaking and primitive camping along the Tar River. You can enjoy an entire weekend of fun.
Ken’s Korny Corn Maze in Garner, NC
https://kensproduce.com/
3175 Benson Rd, Garner, NC 27529
Ken’s is a great option for small children. While they do have a corn maze for adults and teens, there is also a straw maze made of hay bales that adults can see over, but small children cannot.
Kids will also love the Giant slide, tug of war, tire mountain, and corn tunnel.
There isn’t as much for older kids, but if you have a family with kids of various ages, Ken’s can help keep everyone entertained.
Gross Farms in Sanford, NC
https://www.grossfarms.com
1606 Pickett Rd, Sanford, NC 27332
Gross Farms hits family fun on the nose. The 10-acre corn maze will entertain any adult for quite some time, and everyone will love the pumpkin jump and hayride. Don’t get too caught up in the competition with the pedal karts, the kids fit in the karts better making it easier to pedal. They’re going to win.
You can purchase pumpkins, jams and jellies at the pumpkin barn. If the crowd is getting hungry, head to the concession barn for ice cream or a small snack.
Page Farms in Raleigh, NC
https://pagefarmsraleigh.com
6100 Mount Herman Rd, Raleigh, NC 27617
Page Farms is a local favorite in Raleigh. While this is all about pumpkin picking, Page Farms also offers strawberry picking in the summer which is just as fun.
Your admission covers 1 pumpkin and most of the activities. They only accept credit or debit cards and there’s an extra fee for using a credit card. Make sure your debit card is on you.
This is a great place for younger children. You’ll find a 5-acre corn maze, hayride, barnyard playground, and corn crib, plus more. Don’t knock the corn crib, it’s relaxing and seems to exfoliate. One unique thing you can find at Page Farms is honey made from bees located on the farm.
Phillips Farm in Cary, NC
https://www.phillipsfarmsofcary.com
6720 Good Hope Church Rd, Cary, NC 27519
The sheer size of Phillips Farm makes it unique. They offer tickets online and on site and never run out. I don’t think it’s possible for them to fill up. It’s HUGE.
They have the family fun park and the haunted park. One thing to keep in mind is they have limited hours. Make sure to check the website and plan your trip before you head out.
Next to the parking area is Busbee’s Country Store and Dampf Good BBQ. On Saturdays they have a Shop and Play. This area is free. Across the street is the family fun park which required admission and includes the corn maze, rides, games, and petting zoo. There are other activities they may have additional fees such as face painting and the apple cannon.
Naylor Family Farm and Giant Maze in Fuquay-Varina, NC
https://www.naylorfamilyfarm.com/naylor-family-farm
6016 US 401, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526
Maylor Family Farm has all the usual attractions, but adds a unique spin. Their hayride is an adventure with buildings, props, and actors. You may just see Big Foot. In 2024 they are introducing Cranky the Tractor which is an old McCormic Deering tractor upgraded and animated. Kids are sure to love meeting Cranky.
The pirate ship is life size, and there’s an old Bell helicopter on the premises. Imagine sitting in a helicopter while it stimulates take off.
While there are a few activities not included in the admission fee, like the apple cannons, the majority are included and everything is well noted on the farm’s website.
Smith’s Family Fun Farm in Hillsborough, NC
https://www.smithsfamilyfunfarm.com/pumpkins
1715 St Mary’s Rd, Hillsborough, NC 27278
If you’ve been to Hillsborough, you’ll understand when I say Smith’s Family Fun Farm is laid back. Think of it more like taking the kids to a nice playground with a pavilion area for a picnic lunch and grabbing a pumpkin on the way out.
There are two main play areas, plenty of grass to run around on, and storyboards throughout the farm children can search for and read. There’s no admission fee, although they ask that you purchase a pumpkin. Prices start around $5. Not bad for a relaxing day out.
Kersey Valley Maize Adventure in Archdale, NC
https://www.maizeadventure.com/
1615 Kersey Valley Rd, Archdale, NC 27263
Kersey Valley is an event site. By that, I mean they have a zipline tour, axe throwing, outdoor laser tag, escape games, a haunted outdoor attraction, and (oddly) bomb bowling.
Of course, there is also the corn maze, train, pumpkin pillows, giant slide, pedal carts, rock wall, bungee trampolines, treehouse village, and more.
There is a fee to park plus an admission fee. Kersey’s has gone cashless, but parking may be cash only (it’s a little confusing and I’ll update once I get clarification).

https://www.carriganfarms.com/pumpkin-picking/

Hodges Family Farm in Charlotte, NC
https://hodgesfarmnc.com/pumpkin-patch
3780 Rocky River Rd, Charlotte, NC 28215
Laid back, just the basics, and free. You can’t ask for a better day of picking your pumpkin. Besides the pumpkin patch, there are hay bales for climbing, barnyard animals, and picnic areas.
They do charge for parking on the weekends, but it’s nominal. I don’t mind supporting family farms, especially ones that just want you to appreciate a working farm.
This is one of the best places to dress up your little one and get a photo of them with a pumpkin in a wagon. No big crowds, crazy screaming from attractions, or overwhelm here, just a beautiful farm.
Country Days Corn Maze in Indian Trail, NC
https://countrydayscornmaze.com
416 Joe Lee Helms Rd, Indian Trail, NC 28079
Country Days has what many people consider the best corn maze in North Carolina. Every year is a new theme. In 2024, it’s Reba McEntire. But there’s more! The maze is interactive with a passport that has multiple choice trivia questions that match with numbered posts in the maze. Answer correctly and you’ll head the right way, answer wrong and you may find yourself at a dead end.
For children under 10, there’s the “little ears” maze and several farm activities. Some farm activities are free while others require an additional fee. When you purchase your maze ticket, you can add an unlimited farm activities wrist band for an additional cost.
While not a true pumpkin farm, they do sell pumpkins
Red Wolf Farm in Maiden, NC
https://www.redwolffarm.com
1900 HW Farm Rd, Maiden, NC 28650
Open to the public weekends only in the fall, you’ll find plenty of fun for a nominal fee. Of course there’s the corn maze, hayride, and bounce house. But there is also pumpkin bowling, pedal tractors, and pumpkin checkers.
Take a break and enjoy the local artists creating their latest pieces. You can also enjoy a picnic. Bring your own food or grab some on-site.
One of the things I really like about Red Wolf is that the hayrides are unlimited. It’s nice to go for a second ride if you enjoy them. It’s also nice that they keep it simple with one admission fee for everything.
Rural Hill’s Amazing Maize Maze in Huntersville, NC
https://www.visitlakenorman.org/events/annual-events/amazing-maize-maze
4431 Neck Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078
I provided the Visit Lake Norman webpage for the Amazing Maize Maze because it offers more detail than Rural Hill’s site. Rural Hill is a historic site, and the maze is an event offered there every year.
Spend the day navigating the 7-acre corn maze. This one is unique because you can wander in and out of the course. If the course is too boring for your family (although I cant see that happening), you can pop out and try another activity like corn hole.
Enjoy exploring Rural Hill with a short hike or take the hayride that goes around the form. Don’t forget to pick up a pumpkin while you’re there.
If you want a little extra spice, get a ticket for their night mazes. After trying to find your way through the course in the dark, you can end the night with some food and a bonfire.

There are tons of farms in Western, NC. From grapes to apples to pumpkins, they have it all.
Stepp’s Hillcrest Orchard in Hendersonville, NC

Situated in beautiful Hendersonville, there are great views. You can also enjoy an easy or strenuous hike if you want to get a little exercise. Pumpkins are sold by the pound so pick carefully!
Justus Orchard in Hendersonville, NC
https://justusorchard.com/farm-fun-activities/
187 Garren Rd, Hendersonville, NC 28792
Like many of the farms in Hendersonville, Justus Orchard is more apple orchard than pumpkin patch, but they do sell pumpkins and offer fun farm activities. On top of that, they have a taproom with hard ciders, local craft beer, and local wine.
Did I mention the bakery with fried apple pies?
They have a huge jumping pillow, and their apple cannon has targets including Big Foot. There are more activities open on the weekends, including the cow train. Adults can sit back with a local beverage and watch the kids enjoy the playground, or any of the other activities.
Grandad’s Apples N-Such, in Hendersonville, NC
https://grandadsapples.com/grandads-pumpkin-patch/
2951 Chimney Rock Rd, Hendersonville, NC 28792
Grandad’s gets rave reviews from many happy customers. Their corn maze is spectacular. They sprawl it out over a large distance.
Bring your sweet tooth because the market and bakery is full of local pies, donuts, and more. You can also stock up on honey, apple butter, jams, and other goodies.
While there is plenty to do, it’s not overwhelming, and the farm provides a pretty backdrop for photos. Grandad’s encourages you to take photos to remember your visit.
Jeter Mountain Farm in Hendersonville, NC
https://www.jetermountainfarm.com/u-pick
1126 Jeter Mountain Rd, Hendersonville, NC 28739
Jeter’s is free to visit. You only pay for the activities you choose. The play area and live music are free. On site is a market, taproom, and coffee shop. I think that covers the basics for any visit.
A tractor-pulled wagon will take you to the u-pick locations. Once you have your pumpkin, you can hop back on and head to the market to pay.
I can’t think of anything better than grabbing a pumpkin, heading to the taproom for a cider, and enjoying a little bluegrass. That’s a perfect day.
Ashe County Corn Maze and Pumpkin Festival in Jefferson, NC
https://ashecornmaze.com
1332 NC Hwy 16 S, Jefferson, NC 28640
I don’t think it’s any secret that I love West Jefferson and nearby Jefferson. The Ashe County Corn Maze is the perfect example why. This is not a farm, but a community event.
There’s a general admission fee that covers all activities. The corn maze is around 4 acres and can take 30 minutes to an hour.
Once you’re out of the maze, enjoy the other activities including pumpkin bowling, the hayride, corn hole, a corn pit, and face painting to name a few. Some days include live music. You can check the social media sites for more details.
There is a concession area with drinks and snacks as well as some food vendors.
Open only on the weekends, make sure to head out for some fun.
New River Corn Maze in Boone, NC
http://www.newrivercornmaze.com/about-us.html
660 Laurel Gap Ridge Rd, Boone, NC 28607
Located in Deep Gap, I can’t think of a prettier place to enjoy pumpkin picking and a corn maze. The corn maze is over a mile of fun. That’s a huge maze.
You can pay for the corn maze, the tram ride, or save on a combo ticket. Pumpkins are priced by size.
This is more about the scenery and enjoying the crisp mountain air.
Personally, I would enjoy the views from the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway, camp overnight at a local campground, then hit New River Corn Maze in the morning before heading home. It would be a complete weekend of fun in the mountains.
